Talking Point: eMail response from Nintendo of America
I recently asked Nintendo of America support about their lack of updates on Channels and VC, and this is what I got:
“Dear Jorge,
We understand your concern about the lack of service on the VC as of late. Due to sales numbers being far greater recently on Wiiware than on Virtual Console, we have decided to steer in the direction of WiiWare.
Also, we in America have NO plans to update the Internet Channel or the Nintendo Channel. We hope you understand”
From
Wow.
Wow, this is great to know, this is a trap for them either way though.

This is a hoax, and a bad one. Get a life.
Well, we;re not big so we can understand your skepticism, we’re trying to get in touch with Nintendo at the moment to see if what the representative has said is true. Is that alright?
I have just sent an eMail to Nintendo of America. I admit, when re-reading the statement Jorge got back, it was a little unprofessional of them, and seems fabricated, but when they respond, we’re going to get to the bottom of this thing.

Sorry, but this is an unsigned letter with incorrect capitalisation in places. I’m calling shenanigans on this.
Right now, we’re waiting for a response from a different Nintendo rep why we got something fishy like you mentioned above. We’re getting to the bottom of this as quickly as we can, we will provide screenshots, and if needed a forward of the Email to everyone who requests it.
Would I be able to get a forward of the e-mail? I’d like to know what’s going on.

Yes, which one would you like?
EDIT: I should have Jorge forward me his eMail, then I’ll get it forwarded to you all. The second one, you’ll have to wait for since Nintendo hasn’t responded yet, hang tight though.
Cool, thanks Seth.
I’ve never received a reply from Nintendo. I though Nintendo cut off all communications with users other than tech support.
I’m not a fan of VC or Wiiware. Casual gamers are all over the Wii, but do they fall for Wiiware? VC has support from the hardcore gamers, but VC seems like all Nintendo has to offer the hardcore gamers. As Nintendo loses support from hardcore gamers, I can see how Wiiware might be more popular.
I know hardcore and casual gamers can have the opinion that consoles are for gaming and computers are for surfing. I’d like to be able to stream video, other than Youtube, to my TV while I work on my computer. I seem to be in the minority.
However, the letter looks fishy to me too.
